Awaroa Lodge to Kaiteriteri Sail & Cruise

This one-way Abel Tasman sail and cruise travels from Awaroa to Kaiteriteri, combining a morning water taxi, time at Anchorage and an afternoon sail. Meet at Awaroa Beach at 10:40am for the 11:00am departure, arriving at Kaiteriteri around 4:30pm. Operating October–mid-April, it includes water taxi, three-hour sailing tour, packed lunch, tea and coffee, luggage transfer and optional self-guided walking, and suits couples and families finishing a stay at Awaroa Lodge.

Cruise from Awaroa and Explore Anchorage

Leave Awaroa behind on a 45-minute water-taxi journey south along the Abel Tasman coast, travelling via Tonga Island Marine Reserve towards Anchorage. Along the way, take in golden beaches, clear coastal waters and native wildlife before stepping ashore at Anchorage, where you can enjoy a picnic, swim or explore the surrounding national park on foot.

For a little more activity, follow the self-guided Pitt Head Loop, an approximately 1.5-hour walk that rewards the extra effort with elevated coastal views and access to beautiful Te Pukatea Bay. Your luggage is transferred separately, leaving you free to enjoy the time ashore before meeting your sailing catamaran for the three-hour afternoon journey to Kaiteriteri. The return under sail provides a relaxed finish to your Abel Tasman stay, with Split Apple Rock among the coastal highlights along the way.
