Remote Rainforest, Ancient Forest Giants & Rugged Landscapes

Far from the beaches and coastal villages, a completely different side of the Coromandel awaits. This full-day wilderness adventure ventures deep into pristine native forest where towering kauri, rimu and rātā trees dominate the landscape and rugged volcanic peaks rise above the canopy.

With fewer visitors and a true sense of remoteness, this experience showcases some of the most spectacular wilderness scenery in the region. Crystal-clear rivers, hidden rock pools and dense rainforest create a landscape that feels untouched by time.

Hiking Through the Heart of the Coromandel

Designed for active travellers, this guided hiking experience follows lesser-known forest tracks that reveal the raw beauty of the Coromandel backcountry. Along the way, your guide shares stories of the region's natural history, native wildlife and unique ecosystems.

Giant tree ferns line the trails while mountain streams wind through the forest floor. Depending on conditions, there may even be opportunities to encounter some of the area's native wildlife along the way.

A picnic lunch surrounded by nature provides the perfect opportunity to pause and appreciate the tranquillity of this remarkable environment before continuing deeper into the wilderness.
