Day 1: Journey to Wānaka
Your winter adventure begins as you arrive in Queenstown and prepare for the scenic drive south to Wānaka. Today is all about transitioning from travel mode into alpine holiday mode, surrounded by spectacular landscapes.
Collect Rental Car Pick up your included intermediate rental vehicle, perfectly suited for winter conditions and alpine roads. Having your own car gives you flexibility and independence throughout the journey.
Queenstown to Wānaka Drive Travel over the Crown Range Road or via the Kawarau Gorge, both offering breathtaking mountain scenery. Winter conditions can vary, so driving to the conditions ensures a safe and enjoyable trip.
Arrive in Wānaka and Collect Your Lift Pass Once in town, collect your lift pass in advance so you’re ready for your first ski day. This saves valuable time and lets you head straight to the mountain in the morning.
