Self-Drive Access
A suitable 4WD vehicle is required to reach the kayaking departure point. The access road is steep, narrow and unsealed, with sections close to the edge that may feel like a single-lane track.
This option is suitable only for confident drivers who are comfortable on challenging gravel roads. Travellers without a suitable vehicle should book the Pōhatu Scenic Sea-Kayaking Safari with return 4WD transport from Akaroa.
