Can you visit Hobbiton during the drive between Auckland and Rotorua?

An optional Hobbiton visit can be arranged as part of selected Rotorua itineraries, including the return journey to Auckland. The movie set is near Matamata. Reserve a suitable tour session and allow time for the detour and guided visit. An onward flight or rental-car deadline needs to be considered before adding this stop.
