Stop at Mt Victoria for sweeping views over Wellington city and harbour. This is a great introduction to the city’s landscape before heading into nearby filming locations.

Outer Shire and Hobbit’s Hideaway

Visit the forest area used for memorable Shire scenes. Your guide will point out recognisable locations and share behind-the-scenes details from filming in Wellington.

Weta Cave and Weta Workshop

Continue to Miramar to visit Weta Cave, where you can explore the museum and shop. Your Weta Workshop experience includes a closer look at film props, weapons, miniatures and model-making displays.

Return to Wellington

After your Weta visit, return to your original starting point. Morning departures return around 1:00pm, while afternoon departures return around 4:30pm.
