Cruise, Dine and Explore at Walter Peak

Begin with a scenic cruise across Lake Whakatipu, surrounded by views of Queenstown’s alpine peaks and secluded western shoreline. Travellers selecting the vintage steamship option can journey aboard the historic TSS Earnslaw, complete with working steam engines, outdoor decks and comfortable indoor spaces. The cruise leads to the lakeside gardens and heritage buildings of Walter Peak High Country Farm.

At the Colonel’s Homestead Restaurant, enjoy a buffet of local meats cooked over a wood-fired barbecue alongside colourful salads, seasonal vegetables, vegetarian dishes and indulgent desserts. After dining, wander through the gardens or watch a farm demonstration featuring skilled working dogs and traditional farming practices. Sheep shearing may form part of the demonstration outside winter, but it is unavailable from June to September.
