Are there age restrictions for children to ski or snowboard in Wanaka?

In Wanaka Skiing & Snowboarding

Yes, there are age restrictions for children to ski or snowboard in Wanaka. The age restrictions vary depending on the ski resort, but they generally fall into the following categories:

Toddlers: Cardrona Snow Sports School team caters to everyone, from infants as young as 3 months to adults! For your littlest ones, consider enrolling them in Pengi's Nursery or Ski Kindy for the day. As a fully-accredited early childcare center, you can rest assured that your children are in safe and competent hands.

Preschoolers: Cardrona Ski Area offers lessons for preschoolers aged 2-4 years old. However, these lessons are typically very short and are more focused on having fun than on learning how to ski or snowboard.

School-aged children: Children between the ages of 5 and 14 have the opportunity to participate in group lessons either for a full day or a half day at Cardrona. They also offer a four-day group lesson program for kids, called their Kids' Multi-Day Programmes, which takes place from Monday to Thursday every week throughout the season. This program provides an optimal learning adventure by ensuring that the children have the same instructor and group mates throughout.
