Are there any water sources or restrooms along the trail?

In Remutaka Cycle Trail

Along the Remutaka Cycle Trail, there are limited water sources and restroom facilities directly on the trail. However, there are some options available at certain points:

  • Water sources: You can find water sources at some trailheads or access points, such as Kaitoke or Maymorn. It's recommended to carry sufficient water for your ride, especially if you plan to ride longer sections with limited amenities.
  • Restrooms: Restroom facilities, such as pit toilets or flush toilets, can be found at specific locations along the trail. For example, at the Ladle Bend camping area and the Summit, there are restroom facilities available. Additionally, towns and settlements near the trail, like Petone, Lower Hutt, or Featherston, may have public restroom facilities.

It's important to plan your ride and be prepared with enough water and necessary supplies, including hand sanitizers, especially for sections of the trail where amenities are limited.
