In West Coast Wilderness Cycle Trail

While the recommended direction to cycle the West Coast Wilderness Cycle Trail is from Ross to Greymouth, it is ultimately up to personal preference. Starting at Ross and cycling north to Greymouth has advantages such as gaining altitude in less time and having predominantly downhill sections. Additionally, any prevailing winds are more likely to be behind you. However, if you prefer to start at Greymouth and cycle south, that can be arranged as well.
