With the driving taken care of, you can sit back and enjoy the best of West Auckland wine country. Visit renowned local wineries, taste a selection of wines and learn about the families, landscapes and winemaking traditions that have shaped the Kumeu region.

Wineries, Vineyard Lunch and Muriwai Beach

Your first stop is Soljans Vineyard, a family-owned winery established in 1937 and known for its range of whites, reds, sparkling wines and famous port. After your tasting, enjoy lunch at The Bistro at Soljans, where fresh local produce is showcased in a seasonal menu, paired with a glass of wine.

The tour continues to Kumeu River Wines, a respected family-run winery known internationally for its Chardonnay. You’ll also visit Muriwai Beach for sweeping west coast views, with the chance to see the famous gannet colony between September and mid-April, before finishing with a final tasting at Vineyard Cottages or The Hunting Lodge, subject to availability.
