Coromandel Peninsula Circuit: A Journey Through Coast and Forest

The Coromandel Peninsula Circuit is the perfect way to explore one of New Zealand’s most scenic regions. Travel across rugged ranges to Thames, an old gold-mining town filled with character and heritage buildings from the 1800s. Follow the western coast beneath the shade of pohutukawa trees before a gentle walk among towering kauri in lush rainforest.

Continue on to Coromandel Town for a relaxed lunch at a local café, then cross the ranges to the east coast. Panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and Mercury Bay await, along with rolling farmland and rugged shores. Throughout the journey, you’ll hear fascinating stories of Māori and European history while experiencing the region’s unique flora and fauna.
