Itinerary
Itinerary:
1. Auckland – Your tour begins in New Zealand’s largest city. As we depart, your guide will provide insights into the city’s top attractions, setting the scene for the adventure ahead.
2. Waikato – Leaving Auckland, we journey south through the beautiful Waikato countryside, known for its vast farmlands. Along the way, you'll enjoy stunning landscapes, rivers, mountains, and photo opportunities, as well as sights of local farm animals.
3. Hobbiton Movie Set – Upon arriving at Hobbiton, you’ll board a green Hobbiton bus for a 2.5-hour fully guided tour of the 12-acre movie set. Explore the Shire, visit 44 hobbit holes, see lush gardens, learn movie secrets, and enjoy a complimentary drink at The Green Dragon Inn.
4. Tirau – Continuing towards Rotorua, we pass through Tirau, the ‘Corrugated Iron Capital of the World’. Our guide will highlight the town’s quirky sculptures and unique iron buildings that never fail to entertain.
5. Wai-O-Tapu Geothermal Wonderland – At our next stop, you’ll explore Wai-O-Tapu with a guided tour. Famous for its vibrant Champagne Lake, Devil’s Bath, mud pools, and geothermal craters, the otherworldly colours and geothermal activity will leave you in awe.
6. Rotorua City Highlights – To wrap up the Rotorua experience, we embark on a guided driving tour of Rotorua’s landmarks, including Lake Rotorua, the Rotorua Museum, Government Gardens, and Rachel Spring. If time permits, we may stop for some souvenir shopping and a taste of Manuka Honey.
7. Auckland – Finally, we head back north with a fully guided return journey to Auckland, featuring a few secret stops to end the day on a high note.
