It’s an adventure designed to showcase Fiordland’s best features in just one unforgettable day. With every turn of the trail, you’ll discover new scenery that highlights the diversity of the national park.

The guided aspect of the hike ensures that even first-time visitors gain valuable knowledge about the landscapes they traverse. Meals

  • Option to add a picnic lunch at an additional charge. Please inform us of any dietary requirements in advance.
  • Alternatively, bring your own lunch. Note: there are no facilities to purchase food after leaving Te Anau.
  • Comfortable walking shoes or boots with good tread and ankle support.
  • Day pack with warm sweater/fleece top, waterproof jacket, hat, gloves, and sun protection.
  • Camera, drinking water, and lunch (if not pre-ordered).
  • Medium-high fitness needed: 800m descent over 8km from Luxmore Hut, with optional alpine exploration.
  • Ideal for guests over 45 without summit climb, offering rewarding views.

Note: The option to walk to the summit of Mt. Luxmore is no longer included in our scheduled departures, as it can impact clients' comfort and ability during the downhill section of the hike. If reaching the summit is your goal, this can be arranged as a private trip. Please note that it requires an exceptionally high level of fitness, physical ability, and stamina.
