Itinerary
Queenstown – Your tour begins in the scenic city of Queenstown. As we depart, your guide will introduce the highlights of the day and point out key attractions along the way.
Kawarau Suspension Bridge – We make our way through the stunning Kawarau Gorge, passing the Kawarau Suspension Bridge and Roaring Meg Lookout. Time permitting, we’ll stop for your first photo opportunity of the day.
Cromwell – After leaving the gorge, we enter the wine and fruit-growing region of Cromwell. We’ll follow the picturesque Lake Dunstan as we head towards Lindis Pass.
Lindis Pass – Climbing through the breathtaking Lindis Pass, we’ll stop at the famous lookout to capture panoramic views of the valleys below, an essential photo stop on the tour.
Omarama – Driving through the vast plains of the Mackenzie District, we may spot Merino sheep before reaching Omarama. Here, we’ll take a break, and you can try what we think is New Zealand’s best creamy chicken pie.
Lake Pukaki – Heading towards Aoraki National Park, we’ll stop at the stunning Lake Pukaki, known for its crystal-blue waters framed by the Southern Alps and Aoraki/Mt Cook. It’s a perfect spot for some amazing photos.
Mt Cook Information Centre – Upon arriving at Mt Cook Village, you’ll get a chance to take in the views of Aoraki/Mt Cook, New Zealand’s tallest mountain. The mountain is easily admired from the village at just 750m above sea level.
Aoraki/Mt Cook National Park – You’ll have 3 hours of free time in the national park to enjoy walking or hiking trails or opt for an extra activity. We recommend the Hooker Valley* hike, a heli hike on the Tasman Glacier, or a scenic flight. Whatever you choose, we’ll ensure you’re picked up and well taken care of.
High Country Salmon – On our return journey, we’ll stop at High Country Salmon, where you can feed the fish and enjoy some of the freshest salmon in New Zealand.
Jacksons Orchard – In the summer, we’ll often stop at Jacksons Orchard near Queenstown to sample or purchase fresh local fruit or real fruit ice cream.
Queenstown – The tour concludes as we arrive back in Queenstown, where we’ll say our farewells after an unforgettable day.
