TranzAlpine Train and Guided Walk in Arthurs Pass

Start your day with a luxury transfer from Christchurch to board the iconic TranzAlpine train. Settle in as you glide through rolling farmland, braided rivers and into the soaring peaks of the Southern Alps. The train journey offers one of New Zealand’s most spectacular scenic rail experiences.

In Arthurs Pass, lace up your walking shoes for a guided two-hour hike through ancient beech forest and across alpine landscapes rich with native wildlife. Along the trail, your guide shares stories of Māori heritage, geology and the unique ecology of the region. After a relaxed café lunch in the village, enjoy a scenic return drive with stops for photos and a peaceful afternoon tea.
