South Island

Start: Queenstown Airport or Wanaka
Locations: Wānaka, Queenstown
Duration: 3 days
Minimum Age: 18

The Private Wānaka & Central Otago Photography Tour is a 3-day customised photography workshop with two nights at Edgewater in Wānaka. Photograph Lake Wānaka, the Southern Alps, remote river valleys and Central Otago landscapes, with 4WD access to less-visited locations, one-to-one photography tuition and a flexible itinerary shaped around the weather, season and your photographic objectives.

Wānaka & Central Otago Landscape Photography

Wānaka provides a convenient base for photographing both the Southern Alps and the distinctive landscapes of Central Otago. Over three days, you'll photograph everything from Lake Wānaka and mountain panoramas to remote river valleys, high-country landscapes and the unusual rock formations of inland Otago.

With 4WD transport, your local guide can take you beyond the usual roadside viewpoints and into locations that would otherwise be difficult for visitors to access. The private itinerary can also be adjusted according to weather, available light, the season and your photography goals.

A Private 4WD Photography Workshop

This is where I'd make the product differentiation much clearer.

The workshop combines photography tuition with the local knowledge and 4WD access needed to reach less-visited landscapes around Wānaka and Central Otago. Rather than following a fixed sightseeing route, locations can be selected according to the conditions and the type of photography you're interested in.

Your guide can also spend time helping you develop your landscape photography, with the private format allowing the tuition to be adapted to your existing experience.
