Glacier Alley and a Spectacular Milford Sound Overflight
Flying west into Fiordland, the aircraft enters the remarkable “Glacier Alley.” Here you’ll see massive glaciers including Rob Roy, Bonar, Tyndall, Dart, Whitbourn and the Olivine Ice Plateau. These ice fields form a dramatic glacial amphitheatre deep within the mountains.
The journey then reaches Milford Sound for a sweeping aerial pass above towering cliffs and waterfalls. On the return flight to Queenstown you’ll follow the Milford Road past the Homer Tunnel. Because there is no landing, more time is spent exploring Fiordland’s alpine scenery from the air.
