Skills and Confidence for Safe Diving
Safety and confidence are at the core of this SDI Open Water Scuba Diver Course. You’ll learn how to manage equipment, navigate underwater, and handle emergency procedures with confidence. These skills prepare you for a lifetime of safe, enjoyable diving anywhere in the world.
Practical training in Auckland’s diverse waters also fosters a sense of connection to the environment. By learning marine conservation practices, you’ll gain respect for the ecosystems you’re exploring. This balance of education and adventure makes your diving certification both rewarding and meaningful.
INCLUSIONS
- Certification: Receive your SDI Open Water Scuba Diver Certification upon successful completion of the course.
- Comprehensive Training: Learn essential skills, including buoyancy control, dive planning, and marine conservation.
- Equipment Handling: Gain hands-on experience with equipment selection, assembly, use, and maintenance.
- Practical Skills: Master basic scuba techniques such as mask and regulator handling, underwater swimming, and emergency protocols.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Course Requirements:
- Participants must be able to confidently swim 200 metres and tread water for 10 minutes.
- Minimum age for participation is 11 years.
- A medical declaration and good health are required for all participants.
- What to Bring:
- Swimwear, a towel, lunch/snacks, and water.
- A change of clothes for after the session and sunscreen if needed.
- Risks & Safety:
- Diving is an adventure activity that includes inherent risks such as decompression sickness, equipment malfunction, marine life interactions, and adverse weather events.
- Participants must acknowledge these risks and agree to New Zealand Diving’s safety guidelines.
- Travel Insurance: It is strongly recommended for overseas participants to carry travel insurance in case rescheduling is required.

- Children: 11-17 years (must have parent or guardian consent)
CANCELLATION & REFUND
- 15 or More Days Before Departure: 50% cancellation fee**
- 14 Days or Less Before Departure: No refund.
