A Scenic Wanaka Boat and Hike Experience

Start your adventure with a peaceful 20-minute boat ride across the sparkling waters of Lake Wānaka to the remote Stevensons Arm trailhead, only accessible by water taxi. From here, your hike begins along glacier-carved shores beneath the rugged slopes of Mount Burke. Guided or self-guided, the walk reveals a blend of natural beauty and stories tied to the land’s farming past.

As the trail climbs, breathtaking panoramas unfold, with views stretching across Mount Alta, the Buchanan Range, and Mou Waho Island. A tranquil bay at the Arm’s head provides the perfect rest spot, with time to picnic, paddle, or simply take in the serenity. Tracing historic paths once used by shepherds, this unique tour blends heritage, wilderness, and Lake Wānaka’s hidden beauty.
