The Bay of Islands in the far northern region of the North Island has a sub-tropical climate, with a temperate climate in the rest of the North Island of New Zealand. The centre of the New Zealand's North Island is shaped mainly by the volcanic history of the region, dominated by the volcanic peaks, geothermal regions, and picturesque lakes. Hawkes Bay on the East Coast is blessed with a sunny climate, ideal for wine growing and vineyards. |
