Head south towards Rotorua, passing through the picturesque countryside of Matamata. Here, take a guided tour of the iconic Hobbiton Movie Set (included), where you can explore the famous hobbit holes, The Green Dragon Inn, and other beloved locations from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films.
After your visit to Middle-earth, continue to Rotorua, a city rich in Māori culture and geothermal wonders. Known for its bubbling mud pools, steaming geysers, and traditional Māori experiences, Rotorua offers a fascinating mix of history, natural beauty, and adventure.

Spend the day exploring Rotorua’s many attractions at your own pace. Start with a visit to the Agrodome for an entertaining and informative sheep show, complete with a shearing demonstration. Afterwards, head to Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland to witness the vibrant Champagne Pool, the colourful Artist’s Palette, and the daily eruption of Lady Knox Geyser.
Later, unwind at the Hot Tub Spa, nestled in the spectacular Whakarewarewa Forest. Soak in your own cedar hot tub filled with pure forest spring water while enjoying a Good George craft beer, cider, or a glass of wine. Drive across the central plateau, passing by Lake Taupō and stopping at the impressive Huka Falls along the way. Continue to the Hawke’s Bay region and arrive in Napier, New Zealand’s Art Deco capital.

In the afternoon, join a craft beer tour visiting three top local breweries, with tastings at each stop. The itinerary varies based on availability and special requests but typically includes a well-known central Wellington brewery, a hidden gem in Lower Hutt, and a visit to Brewtown in Upper Hutt, home to several award-winning craft breweries. The tour concludes at a central Wellington brewery, where you can continue exploring the local beer scene or opt for a return drop-off at selected city hotels or the Wellington i-SITE.
