Itinerary
7:00 AM – Depart from Christchurch, also known as the Garden City, as your driver-guide points out key highlights of the city. Enjoy the early morning views as you head towards the scenic Canterbury Plains.
8:00 AM – Travel through the vast farmland of the Canterbury Plains, known for its diverse agricultural landscape, including crops, vineyards, dairy, and livestock farms.
9:30 AM – Quick stop in the charming town of Fairlie for a famous Fairlie Bakehouse meat pie. Pick up lunch here to fuel your adventure for the rest of the day.
10:30 AM – Arrive at Lake Tekapo, where you’ll visit the Church of the Good Shepherd. Take in the stunning alpine scenery and snap photos of the iconic church against the backdrop of the turquoise lake.
11:30 AM – Stop by at the glacier-fed Lake Pukaki for magnificent views of its shifting blue hues. On clear days, admire the sight of Aoraki/Mt Cook rising in the distance.
12:30 PM – Arrive at Mt Cook National Park for your adventure. Choose between the Hooker Valley Track (2.5-3 hours) or the Tasman Glacier Walk for a closer look at the park's glaciers, lakes, and alpine landscapes. Alternatively, visit the Mt Cook Information Centre for a more relaxed experience or opt for a scenic helicopter ride over the mountains.
2:30 PM – Rejoin the group and head back along the scenic Mt Cook Highway, with one last view of Lake Pukaki.
3:30 PM – Stop by at a local salmon farm to feed the fish and taste some of the freshest salmon in New Zealand.
4:30 PM – Journey through the breathtaking alpine Lindis Pass, with panoramic views of the Southern Alps as you wind through this stunning route.
5:30 PM – If time allows, stop for fresh fruit and local ice cream at Mrs Jones Fruit Stall, a famous spot for local produce.
6:00 PM – Pass through Kawarau Gorge, stopping briefly at the iconic Kawarau Suspension Bridge and Roaring Meg Lookout for more photo opportunities as you near Queenstown.
8:00 PM – Arrive in Queenstown, the adventure capital of the world. Drop-off at your accommodation, where the tour concludes, and you are free to explore this vibrant town.
