Grade 5 White Water Rafting is a half-day guided rafting trip operated by River Valley near Taihape. It combines an 11 km river run, 10 major Grade 3+ to Grade 5 rapids and around 2–3 hours on the water. Summer trips run twice daily, with one daily departure during the winter season.

The trip starts gently with Grade 2 and 3 rapids before building into the Rangitikei Gorge, where 10 major rapids follow in quick succession. Some are short and powerful, while others continue for several hundred metres between steep canyon walls. River Valley has guided this section of the Rangitikei River since 1982.
