Itinerary

Your guide will pick you up from your accommodation in a private SUV, providing engaging commentary on Christchurch’s history during the 30-minute drive to Sumner/Lyttelton, where your walk begins. Enjoy a hot drink at a local café before setting off along the scenic coastal track. The walk includes a visit to the Crater Rim, encircling the caldera of an ancient volcano, and a stop at the newly restored WWII coastal defence battery, Scotts Hutt. Along the way, you'll take in stunning views of the rugged Pacific coastline, Pegasus Bay, the snow-capped Southern Alps, Lyttelton Harbour, and the vast Pacific Ocean. The total walking time is approximately 2.5 hours before returning to Christchurch City.
