Kapiti Coast Scenic Half Day Private Tour

Your adventure begins with a pick-up from Wellington, heading north along State Highway 1. As we pass through Wellington’s northern suburbs, our first stop offers stunning views from Pukerua Bay, where you’ll take in the breathtaking sights of the Kāpiti Coast.

Next, we journey up Paekākāriki Hill for an even more awe-inspiring panorama, showcasing the Kāpiti Coast, Kāpiti Island, and the South Island. On clear days, you might even glimpse Mt Taranaki/Egmont and Mt Ruapehu in the distance. A visit to Camp McKay at Paekākāriki reveals the fascinating history of the US Marine Corps stationed here during World War II, as they prepared for their Pacific campaign.

Our next stop is Ngā Manu Nature Reserve in Waikanae. Here, you’ll get up close to ancient tuataras, stroll through native bird aviaries, and explore a nocturnal house where, with luck, you might spot a kiwi or two. We then take a scenic drive through the charming seaside communities of Paraparaumu Beach, Raumati Beach, and Raumati South. The day wraps up at a popular local café for refreshments, before returning to Wellington by approximately 3:00 pm.
