Whale Watching from a Unique Aerial Perspective
Helicopter whale watching provides a completely different perspective compared to boat-based tours. From above, you can see entire whales from head to tail, watch them surface and dive, and track pods of dolphins moving through the water. The elevated vantage point allows pilots to reposition for optimal viewing angles.
Whales are sighted approximately 97% of the time, though as wild animals sightings cannot be guaranteed. Watching a whale lift its massive tail before descending into the deep blue ocean is a moment few forget. With mountains rising straight from the sea, Kaikōura offers one of the most dramatic wildlife settings in New Zealand.
