Experience the Mackenzie High Country on a guided Mount Hay Station 4WD tour, travelling across a working merino sheep farm just 5km from Lake Tekapo. With rugged farm tracks, wide alpine views and local guides sharing stories along the way, this is one of the most exciting ways to see the high country landscape.

Mount Hay Station has been in the same family for nearly 100 years and is home to merino sheep, Angus cattle, alpacas, horses and working dogs. As you travel through the station, you’ll see remote viewpoints, tarns, farm animals and sweeping scenery across Lake Tekapo, Mount John and towards Aoraki Mount Cook National Park.
