Dive Deep into Bluff’s Ultimate Shark Adventure

The journey begins with a stunning 45-minute boat ride from Bluff across the Foveaux Strait, offering views of the rugged southern coastline. Upon arrival near Edwards Island, the crew delivers a detailed safety briefing before divers gear up for their first session. The purpose-built shark cage, accommodating up to five divers, ensures both safety and excitement as you descend into the deep blue.

Once submerged, experience the heart-pounding thrill of seeing a Great White glide by within arm’s reach, its sheer power and grace leaving you in awe. The 20-minute dive uses a surface-supplied air system, allowing uninterrupted time to observe these magnificent predators. Between turns, relax on deck, take in the sea air, and watch for other marine life that frequent these pristine southern waters.

The Perfect Blend of Adventure and Discovery

Beyond the adrenaline rush, this tour is an educational experience highlighting New Zealand’s marine biodiversity. The expert crew share fascinating insights into the behaviour of Great Whites and the ecological balance of the Foveaux Strait. Their commentary brings depth to every moment, connecting adventure with environmental awareness.

As the day unfolds, divers often find themselves appreciating the quieter intervals as much as the action. The stillness of the ocean, the cry of seabirds, and the gentle sway of the vessel create a serene contrast to the thrill of the dives. Whether it’s your first shark encounter or a return to the deep, this Bluff-based experience captures the untamed spirit of New Zealand’s southern seas.
