As the trail continues toward Lake Taupō, you’ll find yourself drawn into even more striking scenery. The path meanders through rocky ravines, opening up to cliff-top lookouts that showcase views stretching all the way to Tongariro National Park. Listen for the echoes at Echo Rock — a local favourite known for its fascinating natural acoustics.
The final section of your ride glides beside the Kotukutuku Stream, surrounded by ferns and cascading waterfalls that create a serene ending to your adventure. When you reach Kotukutuku Landing in Waihora Bay, take a refreshing swim and relax as you wait for the boat transfer back. With its mix of challenge, beauty, and tranquillity, this is Taupō at its very best — a ride you’ll never forget.
