Ride Through Walter Peak High Country

Begin with a scenic journey aboard the historic TSS Earnslaw, cruising across Lake Whakatipu from central Queenstown to Walter Peak High Country Farm. After arriving at the farm, meet your experienced guide and be matched with a calm, well-trained horse suited to your confidence and riding ability. Small groups create a relaxed environment for learning the basics before setting out across the property.

Follow gentle trails through rolling farmland to a scenic lookout with panoramic views over Lake Whakatipu and the surrounding mountains. The leisurely pace makes the ride approachable for first-time and novice riders while still providing a memorable taste of New Zealand high-country life. Safety helmets and wet-weather clothing are provided, followed by freshly baked scones, cakes and slices before the return cruise to Queenstown.
