Taieri Gorge Train Relax as the train winds through steep ravines, across historic viaducts, and past isolated high-country landscapes. This heritage railway showcases engineering ingenuity and some of the most spectacular inland scenery in New Zealand.
Pukerangi Step off the train at Pukerangi, a remote high-country station surrounded by open plains. Here you’ll meet your guide and transfer to a modern Mercedes tour vehicle for the next leg through Central Otago.
St Bathans Wander through the hauntingly beautiful ghost town of St Bathans, where gold once ruled the hills. The striking Blue Lake, formed by mining, creates a vivid contrast against the rugged landscape.
Ophir Bridge Pause for photos at the elegant 1880 suspension bridge in Ophir, spanning the Manuherikia River. It’s a peaceful stop that perfectly captures Otago’s pioneering spirit.
Dunstan House, Clyde Enjoy afternoon tea at Clyde’s historic Dunstan House, a beautifully restored 1890s landmark from the gold rush era. Its antique charm and warm hospitality make it a memorable stop.
Cromwell Explore the heritage precinct of Cromwell, a town at the meeting of two great rivers. With its stone buildings and lakeside views, it’s a window into both Otago’s past and its thriving present.
Kawarau Gorge & Lake Dunstan Journey through the rugged Kawarau Gorge, following the turquoise waters that carve between steep rock walls. Continue past Lake Dunstan and into the vineyards of the Gibbston Valley, framed by mountain peaks.
Queenstown Arrive in Queenstown, the adventure capital of New Zealand. Your guide will drop you off at your accommodation, marking the end of a journey rich with history, scenery, and unforgettable moments.
