Ride the Full Remutaka Cycle Trail over Three Days

Begin in the Hutt Valley and follow riverside trails towards Kaitoke before entering the forested Remutaka Ranges. The historic Incline traces the route of the former railway, with tunnels, bridges and railway remains accompanying the gradual climb towards the Summit. Descend into the Wairarapa and continue through open countryside, with the three-day itinerary allowing more time to enjoy the changing landscapes rather than compressing the journey into two long riding days.

As the journey continues south, farmland and lakes give way to the remote Wild Coast, where the trail follows an exposed shoreline backed by steep hills and the wild waters of Cook Strait. This coastal section brings a very different character to the final stage, with rugged tracks, isolated beaches and opportunities to encounter wildlife along the way. Two nights in country hotels provide a comfortable break between riding days, while luggage transfers mean you only need to carry what you require on the bike.
