What the Kawarau Swing Experience Is Like
Your adventure begins with a Bungy Bus journey from Queenstown to the Kawarau Bungy Centre, where the crew prepares you for the swing. Once secured, you’re released from a platform 43 metres above the Kawarau River and sweep through the gorge before swinging back towards the platform. Solo, tandem and triple options are available, making it an exciting choice for individuals, couples, friends and families.
Unlike a bungy jump, the Kawarau Swing replaces a vertical freefall with a broad, pendulum-style ride through the gorge, creating a different sensation of height and speed. Sharing the swing lets you experience the anticipation and rush together, while non-riders can watch from the centre’s viewing areas and soak up the atmosphere, river scenery and action around the historic Kawarau Bridge.

- Spectators are free to watch at the Kawarau Bungy Centre and use the Bungy Bus. Bookings are essential and free.
- Participants with certain medical conditions should check the medical requirements before booking.
- Prescription safety glasses are available free of charge if required.
Self-Drive
- The Kawarau Bungy Centre is located on State Highway 6 at Kawarau Bridge, approximately halfway between Queenstown and Cromwell.
- From Queenstown: approximately 25 minutes (23 km).
- From Cromwell: approximately 30 minutes (27 km).
- Free parking is available onsite.
- Check in: At least 15 minutes before your jump time
- Allow: Minimum of 1.5 hours total from Queenstown
Bungy Transport
