What the Kawarau Swing Experience Is Like
Your adventure begins with a scenic Bungy Bus journey from Queenstown to the Kawarau Bungy Centre, where the Bungy Crew will get you ready for your swing high above the gorge. Once you’re secured and released from the platform, you’ll sweep through the Kawarau Gorge at speed before gently swinging back towards the platform.
The experience is ideal for friends and family who want to share an adrenaline-filled activity without the freefall of a bungy jump. Spectators can also join the trip and enjoy the viewing areas at the centre, making it easy to take in the spectacular scenery and atmosphere even if they’re not taking the swing themselves.

- Spectators are free to watch at the Kawarau Bungy Centre and use the Bungy Bus. Bookings are essential and free.
- Participants with certain medical conditions should check the medical requirements before booking.
- Prescription safety glasses are available free of charge if required.
Self-Drive
- The Kawarau Bungy Centre is located on State Highway 6 at Kawarau Bridge, approximately halfway between Queenstown and Cromwell.
- From Queenstown: approximately 25 minutes (23 km).
- From Cromwell: approximately 30 minutes (27 km).
- Free parking is available onsite.
- Check in: At least 15 minutes before your jump time
- Allow: Minimum of 1.5 hours total from Queenstown
Bungy Transport
- Departs from the Queenstown Bungy Centre at Shotover and Camp Streets.
