No tours during major Martinborough events including Martinborough Fair, Round the Vines and Toast Martinborough.

Itinerary

After collecting you from Wellington, we make our way through the Hutt Valley to our first stop at the summit of the Remutaka mountain range, standing 555 metres above sea level. Here, we take in the Remutaka Crossing monument, which honours the 60,000 New Zealand soldiers who crossed from the military camp in Featherston to the Port of Wellington between 1915 and 1918. Please note this stop is weather dependent.

From the summit, it’s just a 15-minute drive down to the charming South Wairarapa town of Featherston, where we’ll visit C’Est Cheese. Enjoy a platter featuring up to five exquisite New Zealand cheeses, including those crafted onsite by owner and cheesemaker Paul Broughton.

Next, we head to Greytown Honey to meet Karly and Alex Polaschek, owners and beekeepers extraordinaire. Alex will kit you out in beekeeping gear, giving you the chance to safely observe and learn about the inner workings of a live beehive. Afterwards, you’ll tour the factory where Alex walks you through the honey-making journey, from hive to jar. You’ll even get some hands-on experience before heading to the tasting room, where Karly introduces their delicious honey range, including several varieties of Manuka Honey.

Now it’s time to sip your first wine of the day! A short drive southeast takes us to Martinborough, the Pinot Noir capital of the North Island. Here, we’ll enjoy tastings and lunch at either the renowned Poppies Martinborough or Moy Hall Vineyard.

Once you’re ready for a change of flavours, we’ll visit Olivo or Juno Olives for tastings of premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Sample an array of oils, including those infused with unique flavours, and take a stroll through the olive grove with the oil producer, learning what it takes to grow olives and craft exceptional oils. Please note, the grove tour and tastings may be unavailable during the harvest season (mid-May to mid-June).

Our final indulgence of the day awaits back in Greytown, where we’ll visit Schoc Chocolates to savour artisan-made chocolates for dessert.

We’ll leave Greytown around 3:30pm, arriving back in Wellington at your chosen drop-off location by approximately 5:00pm. (Itinerary subject to change)
