What Makes Doom Creek Canyoning So Unique?

Doom Creek might sound intimidating, but this adventure is perfect for beginners and thrill-seekers alike. Tucked away in Mount Richmond Forest Park, it blends shadowy slot canyons with sunny stretches and shingle beaches. The beauty of Doom Creek is its versatility—ideal for swimmers, floaters and jumpers who want to push their limits or simply enjoy the ride.

With its horizontal layout and towering vertical walls, you’ll find jumps of all sizes, some soaring over 10 metres. None of the jumps are mandatory, so you can choose your own pace while soaking in the rugged scenery. The journey starts with a gentle 45-minute walk, followed by about three hours of pure canyoning bliss through water, rock, and bush.

The Experience: From Slot Canyons to the Wakamarina River

You’ll kick things off with a safety briefing, tailored for a no-abseil day full of floating, swimming and optional jumps. Early on, small jumps build your confidence as you weave through narrow, beautifully lit canyon walls. It’s a hands-on, feet-wet adventure that rewards every bit of energy you put in.

As Doom Creek widens and merges with the mighty Wakamarina River, the adventure truly opens up. The bigger jumps appear here, and with sheer walls all around, it’s a paradise for adrenaline lovers. After a full, splash-filled circuit, the loop leads right back to the car park—tired, soaked, and completely stoked.
