Next up: an unforgettable scenic helicopter flight from Te Anau over hidden alpine lakes to Luxmore Hut on the Kepler Track. The walk begins in the tussock-covered alpine area before descending into lush red beech forest. As you make your way down to the shores of Lake Te Anau, you’ll notice the dramatic changes in flora with altitude, from hardy alpine herbs to dense forest and vibrant native ferns.

Your walk ends at Brod Bay, where a water taxi will return you across the lake to Te Anau – a stunning finish to a bucket-list day.

Today you'll explore one of the world’s most famous walking tracks – the Milford Track.

Begin your experience with a boat ride from Milford Sound’s Deep Water Basin to Sandfly Point, the starting point of your guided walk to Giant Gate Waterfall. The track follows the crystal-clear Arthur River through ancient rainforest, past moss-covered trees, lush ferns, and melodic birdlife. The swing bridge near Giant Gate offers breathtaking photo opportunities with the waterfall as your backdrop.

After your walk, continue your Fiordland experience with a 1 hour 40 minute scenic cruise on Milford Sound. With purpose-built viewing decks and spacious lounges, you’ll get front-row views of towering cliffs, tumbling waterfalls, glacial landscapes, and lush native bush.
