Begin your day with sweeping views from Mt Victoria before heading into the "Outer Shire" for your first taste of Middle-earth. At the Weta Cave in Miramar, explore the museum, watch behind-the-scenes footage, and visit the 'Window into the Workshop' where film props and weapons come to life through the artists’ stories. It’s a dream for film fans and curious travellers alike.

After lunch at the iconic Chocolate Fish cafe, the tour continues into the lush Hutt Valley, following the River Anduin toward filming locations for Helms Deep and the Gardens of Isengard. You’ll enjoy afternoon tea surrounded by the natural beauty that made these scenes so magical. The final stop is Rivendell and the Legolas tree, wrapping up a full day of cinematic adventure before returning to Wellington.

Itinerary

1.We'll pick you up at 9.30am and head north into the Hutt Valley, following the 'River Anduin' and taking in the sights of 'Helms Deep', before stopping at the 'Gardens of Isengard'.

2.Our next stop is Rivendell and the Legolas Tree before we make our way back to Wellywood.

3.Then, it's off to the Weta Cave in Miramar, where you can explore the museum and shop and take plenty of photos of the exhibits on display.

4.Following that, you'll experience the fascinating 'Weta Experience', where you'll go behind the scenes and see film props and weaponry, with the artists themselves explaining how the artefacts were created. You'll also gain insight into the world of miniatures and model making.

5.We'll have lunch locally at a seaside cafe, before heading for the hills to enjoy the stunning view from the top of Mt Victoria.

6.Your final stop is the 'Outer Shire' and the Hobbit's Hideaway.

7.We'll return you to your starting point at 4.30pm.
