In the afternoon, the rugged southern coast beckons with an off-road trip to Red Rocks, where seals can often be spotted lounging on the rocks. Back in the city, ride the famous cable car and take a scenic stroll through the lush Botanical Gardens, ending at the Lady Norwood rose gardens. To round off the day, visit historic landmarks like the Beehive, Old St Paul’s church, and Wright Hill for one last panoramic view of the region.

Itinerary

1. We'll pick you up from wherever you are in Wellington at 9.30am and head to Mt Victoria to enjoy splendid views of the city and harbour, giving you a good sense of the area.

2. Next, we'll visit Peter Jackson's Weta Cave film empire, where you can explore the museum and shop, and snap some great photos. Then, it's lunchtime by the sea at the famous Chocolate Fish cafe.

3. After lunch, we'll continue along the rugged southern coastline to Red Rocks, where, between May and October, you can see the seal colony. We'll then drive back into the city and take you on a Cable Car ride.

4. After that, we'll stroll through the beautiful Botanical Gardens to the Lady Norwood rose gardens.

5. Following that, we'll visit the iconic Beehive and Parliament buildings, before going to Wellington's oldest church, Old St Pauls.

6. Finally, we'll head west to the Wright Hills fortress, a historic military site offering breathtaking views of the greater Wellington region.
