Can You Enjoy an Abel Tasman Day Walk Without Taking a Boat?

Yes. You can walk directly into the park from Mārahau, following the Coast Track and returning the same way. Choose a turnaround point that suits your fitness and available time.

Walking all the way to Anchorage covers approximately 12.4 km and takes around four hours one way, so a return walk is a substantial outing. For a shorter visit, explore the southern section without committing to reaching Anchorage.
