If unwinding is your goal, simply stretch out on the sand at Anchorage Bay and enjoy the peace of Abel Tasman’s coastline. The sheltered location makes it ideal for swimming, picnicking, or simply soaking up the sunshine. With its laid-back atmosphere, it’s easy to see why this bay is a favourite among travellers.

Those wanting a bit more activity can head towards Astrolabe Lookout, where panoramic views of the park and coastline reward your effort. Watering Cove is another short walk away, offering more golden sand and clear waters for a quiet escape. Whether you walk, swim, or simply rest, Anchorage Bay is an unforgettable highlight of Abel Tasman.

At Anchorage, you can relax on the beach or choose one or more of these beautiful short walks:

• Te Pukatea Bay: 50 minutes round trip
• Te Pukatea Bay via Pitt Head and panoramic viewpoints: 1.5 hours loop track
• Cleopatra’s Pool (Torrent River): 2 hours round trip
• Watering Cove: 50 minutes round trip
• Astrolabe Lookout (turn right for 5 minutes at the top of Watering Cove track) : 30 minutes round trip

DEPARTURE & RETURN TIMES:

• Departure Times from Kaiteriteri Beach: 9:00am, 10:30am*, 12:40pm, 2:30pm**
• Pick-up Times at Anchorage: 11:45am, 1:45pm*, 3:45pm, 5:00pm**
• Arrive Back at Kaiteriteri Beach: 12:15pm, 2:10pm*, 4:20pm, 5:30pm**

*Available during the Summer Season only: From 15th of October to 30th of April

**Available during Peak Summer only: From 1st of December to 31st of March
