The largest town in the area, Alexandra, is just a 30-minute drive from the trail's start. Queenstown airport is the closest airport to the Clutha Gold Trail, located just over an hour's drive from Alexandra. Dunedin airport is another option, which is approximately a 2.5-hour drive away. Both airports provide convenient access to the trail.
