Starting in Queenstown and ending in Dunedin, this classic journey follows riverside paths, historic rail lines, and sweeping open landscapes. Along the way, you’ll enjoy Southern hospitality, taste local food and wine, and visit architectural gems in towns like Clyde, Ranfurly, and Ophir.

Beyond the trail, the experience includes a warm-up ride on the Queenstown Trails, a curling session in Naseby, a wildlife cruise in Otago Harbour, and an unforgettable overnight stay at Lanarch Castle. With comfortable accommodation, expert guides, and a support vehicle always nearby, this is the perfect way to experience New Zealand’s original Great Ride—at your pace, with all the details taken care of.

Important Information

  • Fitness & Preparation: Introductory-grade trail with gentle gradients and wide gravel paths. Guests should train by cycling on compacted gravel and hills for two hours per week over three months before the trip.
  • Trail Surface: Compacted gravel (99%) with wide paths for social riding, featuring narrow cattle-stop grates and s-shaped chicanes.
  • Bike Hire Options: Standard bike rental and electric bike rental. Hybrid and electric bikes are tailored for comfort on New Zealand trails.
  • Additional Costs: Single supplement (limited to 2 per tour), travel insurance, airport transfers, personal expenses, and visas are not included.
  • Eco-friendly Reminder: Guests should bring their own water bottle to help reduce environmental impact.
