How much does a NZeTA (New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority) cost?

The cost of an NZeTA (New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority) consists of a processing fee and a government tourism levy.

Fee Breakdown (2025)

  • Processing Fee: NZD $17 (via the official mobile app) or NZD $23 (online).
  • International Visitor Levy (IVL): NZD $100.

Total Cost Most travellers will pay a total of approximately NZD $117 – $123 per person. You pay this in a single transaction when you request your NZeTA.

Who pays less?

  • Australian Permanent Residents: Pay only the processing fee ($17–$23). You are exempt from the $100 IVL.
  • Cruising: Cruise ship passengers must pay the full NZeTA + IVL fee, even if they only visit for a day.
