There are two types of 6-month visas for New Zealand:
- Visitor visa: This visa allows you to visit New Zealand for up to 6 months. You can use this visa to travel, sightsee, visit friends and family, or do short-term study or work.
- Parent and Grandparent Visitor Visa: This visa allows you to visit New Zealand to visit your children or grandchildren who are New Zealand citizens or permanent residents. You can stay in New Zealand for up to 6 months at a time, and you can make multiple visits within a 3-year period.
To be eligible for a 6-month visa, you must meet the following requirements:
- Have a valid passport that is not due to expire within 3 months of your intended arrival in New Zealand.
- Have a valid email address.
- Be able to pay the visa application fee.
- Meet the health and character requirements for entry to New Zealand.
The health and character requirements for entry to New Zealand are designed to ensure that visitors to New Zealand do not pose a risk to the health or safety of the New Zealand community.
