Set off on a mouthwatering adventure along the Kāpiti Coast, where stunning views meet gourmet discoveries. Begin your day with panoramic sights from Pukerua Bay and Paekākāriki Hill, soaking in vistas of Kāpiti Island and beyond. The tour then moves into full flavour mode with a visit to the Kāpiti Chocolate Factory, where you'll learn about the art of chocolate-making and sample fresh treats straight from the source.

From there, it's a sensory journey through Kāpiti’s finest local producers. Try your hand at crafting the perfect brew with the “Beans to Cup” experience at The Roastery, then sip on award-winning spirits at the Bond Store. Finish the day with a seaside lunch at Hey Coastie Café in Waikanae – the ultimate way to taste your way through the region’s vibrant culinary scene.

The Coffee Roastery component of the tour is only available on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Special arrangements can be made for other days.
Visits to the Kāpiti Chocolate Factory are not available on Sundays.

Itinerary

Your Kāpiti Coast Foodie Delights Private Tour begins with a scenic drive north along State Highway 59, passing through Wellington’s northern suburbs to reach our first stop at Pukerua Bay. Here, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the Kāpiti Coast before continuing up Paekākāriki Hill, where the breathtaking vistas include Kāpiti Island, the South Island, and, on clear days, even Mt Taranaki and Mt Ruapehu.

The first foodie experience of the day takes us to the Kāpiti Chocolate Factory, where you’ll learn about the history and production of chocolate, from cocoa bean to your taste buds, and enjoy an extensive tasting session of their delicious creations. Next, we visit The Roastery Kāpiti in Paraparaumu for an immersive “Beans to Cup” experience. Gain insights into coffee sourcing, roasting, and sustainability, enjoy a freshly brewed cup, and leave with your own bag of freshly roasted beans.

Our next stop is the Bond Store/Koakoa, where you’ll sample award-winning locally produced Limoncello, Gin, and Vodka. After a morning of indulgence, we relax over lunch at the iconic Hey Coastie Café at Waikanae Beach.

In the afternoon, we visit one of Kāpiti’s renowned olive oil producers, such as Kāpiti Olives or Totara Tunnel Olives in Te Horo. Take a guided walk through the olive groves and learn about the care and dedication needed to produce award-winning extra-virgin olive oil.

After a day of indulgent tastings, sit back and relax on the drive back to Wellington, arriving at your drop-off location between 4:30 and 5:00 pm. If you drift off on the way home, no worries—it just means you’ve fully enjoyed the flavours of the Kāpiti Coast! (Itinerary subject to change)
