Welcome to Auckland! Once you've settled into your accommodation, prepare for a 6pm pre-tour meeting where you'll meet your Tour Manager and get acquainted with your fellow travellers, ready to embark on an exciting road trip adventure.
The rest of your evening is free to explore. We suggest visiting the Auckland Sky Tower, New Zealand's tallest building, where the more adventurous can experience a harnessed jump! Alternatively, consider a visit to the Auckland War Memorial Museum, situated in the picturesque Auckland Domain, offering a deep dive into the country's history and culture.
Welcome to Auckland City
Following a filling breakfast, we're set to depart the hustle and bustle of the city in our air-conditioned coach, heading for the scenic splendour of the Coromandel Peninsula. Renowned for its stunning beaches and ethereal rainforests, the journey there is nothing short of breathtaking, with the coastal road offering dramatic twists and turns that reveal increasingly pristine views of the ocean. Make sure your cameras are at the ready to capture the splendid vistas.
The Coromandel plays host to the celebrated Hot Water Beach, a unique spot where visitors annually flock to dig their own natural spa in the sand, conditions permitting. Upon our arrival, there's ample time for exploration, from lounging on the sandy shores and kayaking to indulging in the thermal hot pools or simply soaking up the local atmosphere. Please note, due to significant damage from extreme weather in early 2023, the Cathedral Cove walk is temporarily inaccessible, though kayaking from Hahei remains an option, as does enjoying the tranquillity of Hahei Beach. With some Coromandel roads still out of commission, expect some itinerary changes to ensure a safe and enriching experience, with your guide providing updates on any adjustments to our planned route.
