Coastal Adventure from Marahau to Observation Beach

Start your journey from Marahau on a guided kayak tour gliding through the turquoise waters of the Abel Tasman coastline. Along the way, take in glimpses of the coastal track and the picturesque Astrolabe Islands. Once you arrive at Observation Beach, enjoy a relaxing lunch surrounded by golden sands and native forest.

From here, trade your paddle for hiking boots and begin the walking section of the loop. Wander through lush native bush, cross crystal-clear streams, and soak in sweeping views overlooking Anchorage and the Astrolabe Islands. The contrast between sea and forest makes this part of the day truly unforgettable.

The Scenic Pitt Head Loop and Te Pukatea Bay

Your afternoon continues with a stroll along Anchorage Beach before joining the Pitt Head Loop track. This gentle trail leads to one of the most stunning viewpoints in Abel Tasman National Park. Make sure to take your time at the lookout to fully appreciate the spectacular panorama of Te Pukatea Bay.

Te Pukatea Bay, often called a hidden gem, offers a tranquil escape framed by native bush and golden sands. It’s the perfect spot to pause and reflect on your day’s adventure. When you’re ready, follow the track back to Anchorage for your water taxi return to Marahau, wrapping up an unforgettable coastal journey.
