Discover the Best of Abel Tasman on Water and Foot

Set off from Marahau and glide across the calm waters of the Astrolabe coastline, passing golden beaches and peaceful inlets. Paddle out towards Adele and Fisherman Islands, where seals and seabirds add a touch of wild beauty to your adventure. End your first day at Anchorage Bay, where your kayak is collected, and you can unwind under the stars.

The Anchorage campsite is a highlight, offering a serene setting surrounded by native bush and turquoise water. After a restful night, continue your journey along the Abel Tasman Great Walk coastal track. The views of Tasman Bay are breathtaking, especially as you reach the lookout over Torrent Bay before descending towards Marahau.

A Seamless Blend of Kayaking, Camping, and Coastal Walking

This trip perfectly combines adventure and relaxation, giving you time to explore at your own pace. Paddle into Torrent Bay lagoon at high tide, soaking in the tranquillity before your kayak is collected at the end of day one. Spend your evening enjoying the peaceful Anchorage setting, a favourite spot among outdoor enthusiasts.

Day two unfolds with a scenic walk back to Marahau along one of New Zealand’s most iconic trails. The coastal track winds through lush native forest and past hidden coves, each offering picture-perfect views.
