As the tour heads south, the dramatic Kaikōura coastline delivers wildlife encounters with optional whale or dolphin watching before the final return to Christchurch. - Fitness & Skill Level – This tour is graded moderate to challenging (4), requiring good stamina and the ability to cycle up to 100km per day with climbs. It is not suitable for beginners.
- Cycling Conditions – The route includes main roads with traffic moving at speed, scenic back roads, and undulating terrain. Riders should be confident cycling in these conditions.
- Bike Hire – Bikes (road bikes and e-bikes) are available for hire at an additional cost. Helmets are required but not included.
- Optional Activities – Experiences like whale watching in Kaikōura and Hanmer Springs hot pools are available but not included in the tour package.
- Packing Essentials – Guests should bring a reusable water bottle, weather-appropriate cycling gear, and personal items for a week-long ride.
